Logging Into A Technicolor CGM4231MDC Router With The Default IP
Note: if your Internet Protocol (IP) address can be different than mine when you are following this guide, the only thing that should not change is the subnet mask, so 255.255.255.0 followed by the default gateway of 192.168 .1 .1 for both fields should work fine.
Step 1
Open up an Internet browser of your choice, such as Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox. Alternatively, you can open up your command prompt (CMD) and type in config ->enter and look for the default gateway (router address). For example, mine looks like this:
Default Gateway: 192.168.1.1
Step 2
Type into the address bar your default gateway. After that, press Enter on your keyboard to get it.
In my case, this is 192.168.1.1, but yours might be different.
Step 3
Type in the username and password to log in to the router.
The default username for this router is “admin” (all lowercase), and the default password is “password,” which you should have changed if you are using this device in your home network.
Username: admin
Password: password (all lowercase)

Step 4
After you log in successfully, you can access the main menu of your router interface, where all the configuration options are available for you to play around with.

If you cannot log in to your router using the default IP, you can try accessing it using its hostname or DDNS, which is much easier because it doesn’t require you to know the IP address ahead of time.

Logging in without username or password
If you do not know the username and password of your router, please follow these steps:
Reset your router to its factory defaults and re-configure it.
Configure your Internet connection settings on your computer/device following these steps: – Click Start > Settings > Network & Sharing Center – On the left under “Change adaptor settings,” right-click the connection you’re using and select Properties – Double-click on the Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4) to configure your router’s IP address.

Open the web browser and type in your router login URL that is either http://192.168.1.1 or http://10.0.0.1.
Now username and password window will pop up on your screen asking for login credentials to access your router’s control panel. Type both the default username and password of “admin” or any other credentials you have changed from it originally from back when you first configured your Technicolor CGM4231MDC router.

One of the major features of this device is its ability to use dual-band WiFi, which allows it to connect to two different types of wireless frequencies. Another great feature of the Technicolor CGM4231MDC router is that all your wireless connections can be used simultaneously. This means you can connect wirelessly to any devices within range without having to worry about interference.
The last major feature I will talk about in this article is the capability of this device to be configured as a wireless bridge. This makes the CGM4231MDC router an excellent device for office use because it can be connected to another source of internet connection using an Ethernet cable and then broadcasted wirelessly to anyone within range of this router. This allows your employees to use their laptops or mobile devices easily without relying on physical wired connections.
What’s the default password of my Technicolor CGM4231MDC router?
The default password for the Technicolor CGM4231MDC router is “admin.”
There are some precautions you should take if you want to keep your wireless connection secure, including choosing a firm, difficult-to-guess/predict/crack “secret” (i.e., not easy to guess) WiFi key/password and adjusting your web browser to only accept connections that use HTTPS or HTTPS encryption.
You can also adjust these settings on any personal devices you want to keep secured and on your wireless router.
